As Star Wars Celebration: Anaheim looms ever closer and all those attending are nailing down their schedules for what is sure to be an amazing time, I can’t help but get a bit jealous of the awesome conversations and even more awesome Star Wars stuff that I’m bound to miss (or, at the very least, hear about later than everyone else). So, instead of drowning in self-pity, I decided to take part in the fun and choose the top 6 things I would make sure not to miss if I were going to Celebration!
Where? All the time!
Whether it's fashion, art, 0r toys, one of the parts about Celebration that is making me the most jealous is the long list of exclusives that those attending will get the chance to buy. Here are a few of the items that would be sure to empty my pocket book:
New Her Universe Items
I'd obsess over new Her Universe items at any time of the year, but these designs, which will debut at Celebration, have me beyond excited. My personal favorites? The May the Force be with You pullover sweatshirt, the X-wing cardigan, and the STUNNING Cloud City dress. Trust me, as soon as they are available online, they'll be mine! If you haven't already checked it out, be sure to take a look at the sneak peak of the beautiful new designs from Her Universe here!
I'm not a huge collector of toys, but there is something about these adorable little bobble heads that makes me want to collect them all. From Vader without his helmet to a sparkly stormtrooper, I would be first in line at the Funko booth (#1410)! If you have the chance to purchase any of these, know that at least one gal in the midwest is going to be green with envy. Or, of course, you can feel free to pick me up E-3PO, a shock trooper, and R2-Q5 ;).
Besides books, Star Wars art (and geek art in general) is one of my favorite things to collect. My home is lined with Middle Earth maps, Star Trek ship blueprints, and Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra team photos, not to mention some of my favorite Star Wars pieces. There are so many stunning choices at this Celebration's art show, with my absolute two favorites are the Queen and Princess by Karen Hallion and Desert Sands by Malcom Tween. Thanks to our great friend of the show, Matt (@JediHunter66), I'll be getting a copy of Desert Sands!
When? Saturday, April 18, 4pm - 6:30pm
Where? Digital Stage
Though there were parts about the first season of Star Wars: Rebels that I wasn't exactly fond of, the first season finale made me dizzy with excitement for what the second season may hold. What was the Inquisitor referring to when he said there are some things more frightening than death? Will the inevitable confrontation between Vader and Ahsoka happen? Will Ahsoka live through this inevitable fight? We almost certainly won't know the answers to these three questions in the season 2 premiere of Rebels, but there may be clues hidden throughout the episode that whet our palettes enough to make the wait for season 2 bearable. There's no spoiler free for me when it comes to this episode...I'll be reading about it and watching it as soon as I can! Also, if you can't make it to the premiere and are going to Celebration, you can still learn more about the episode from the cast and crew themselves at this panel!
When? Thursday, April 16, 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Where? Star Wars University - 206AB
You may remember my first blog post, but just in case you didn't know...astronomy, science in general, and Star Wars are the top three nearest and dearest topics to my heart. This panel hits my trifecta, focusing on how the strongest scientific minds of our generation still look to Star Wars for inspiration and find Star Wars connections in nearly all they do. If you enjoy connecting Star Wars to real life and learning about how NASA scientists are exploring the frontiers of life in our solar system, this IS the panel you're looking for! This impressive panel, led by two NASA scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is bound to satisfy your inner science geek.
Ahsoka Lives day
One of my absolute favorite moments in the entire Star Wars Universe was the return of Ahsoka Tano to Star Wars Rebels. As a character I had grown exceptionally fond over during the 6 seasons of The Clone Wars, officially knowing her story didn’t end with Order 66 was as extraordinary as it was emotional. Two fantastic fangirl minds, Johnamarie Macias and Amy Ratcliffe, conjured up this event to celebrate the return of Ahsoka, and I definitely would not miss the chance to wear my favorite Her Universe Ahsoka Lives shirt and flail with awesome fangirls and boys alike. Check out the Facebook event here for more details, and be sure to rock your Ahsoka outfit on April 17 whether you are at SWCA or not!

It’s no secret that I am obsessed with The Clone Wars. From the original shorts to the new series, these stories told have changed the way I watch the Star Wars films for the better. The show's premature end broke many hearts (including mine), and left me wishing for closure to many of the characters' stories I'd become invested in. Luckily, the Lucasfilm crew heard the cry for more by us fans. Since the release of The Lost Missions episodes, we've also gotten Darth Maul comics, a Quinlan Voss and Ventress book announcement, and an unfinished story arc. Now, those lucky enough to be at Celebration will get an entirely new arc focusing on (just a little spoiler here) clonetroopers! I won't spill any more about the episodes here, but if you want more details on this arc, be sure to read this article posted by the Wookiee Gunner.

Last but not least, I have to give a shout out to one of my all time favorite video games: Battlefront. I feel like I have been waiting nearly half my life for the third installment of this game to arrive (mostly because it has almost been half my life...), so the fact that an official trailer is finally being released for the game has me reeling with delight. Finally...I'll once again have a shooter game set in my favorite universe! While there is little I know outside of the leaked footage I've seen, I have a strong feeling that even getting a glimpse at the worlds and battles being fought in the trailer will tell us a great deal about the state of the galaxy at the time of The Force Awakens.
While this is my absolutely-must-do-during-celebration list, it is just the tip of the iceberg of all the amazingly awesome events that will be happening next week during Celebration. To all those going--I hope you have an unforgettable time! Be sure to tweet and tell those of us that can't make it about the undoubtedly cool experiences you're having. To those sticking around their homes, be strong and may the Force be with you!
Also, if you're making your way to SWCA, be sure to find Meg and Jason! They will both be on panels while there, and you won't want to miss this chance to see them!
